Because people are our number-one asset, we support our staff with generous benefits and contributions toward a secure future.
Imagine yourself as part of the WorkSafeBC team. Along with a competitive salary, your total compensation package as a permanent employee includes vacation, optional leave arrangements, health care and dental benefits, and contributions toward your retirement pension.
You'll receive a generous vacation entitlement that starts at three weeks annually and grows the longer you're with us. Most employees also have the option of working flex hours, where you work a little longer every day in one quarter of the year in order to earn days off in the next. This works out to an additional 13 days off each year.
If you're a permanent employee, you'll automatically be enrolled in our defined benefit pension plan, funded with contributions by staff and WorkSafeBC. With a defined benefit pension plan, you can anticipate receiving a predictable lifetime income replacement at retirement.
You'll have the security of knowing, in the unfortunate event of an illness or emergency, our benefits include cumulative sick leave, long term disability, medical services premiums, extended medical coverage, dental, life insurance, and more. Our sophisticated return-to-work program is coordinated jointly with the Union to ensure timely and appropriate re-integration into the workplace.
We offer several flexible unpaid leave arrangements. For example, the self-funded leave program allows you to bank 20 percent of your annual salary over four years, and then take the fifth year off with pay (using the funds you accumulated over the previous four years). The care and nurturing leave program lets you take up to five years off to care for your child.
As a WorkSafeBC employee, you'll also have access to:
