Champions of Courage tells the inspiring story of WorkSafeBC’s Paralympic Team members

Josh Dueck, WorkSafeBC Paralympic Team memberRichmond, B.C., February 16, 2010 — Throughout February and March, Shaw TV is airing a half-hour television special, Champions of Courage, featuring two of WorkSafeBC’s Paralympian speakers, Josh Dueck and Jessica Vliegenthart.

The show, created by WorkSafeBC, is a tale of tragedy and triumph; a deeply moving portrait of two individuals who’ve experienced catastrophic injury and moved on to live remarkable lives.

Josh and Jessica were seriously injured in workplace accidents, and went on to become world-class athletes and powerful voices for workplace safety. Josh is the world sit-ski champion who’ll be vying for the gold at the upcoming Paralympic Games, and Jessica is a member of Canada’s Women’s Wheelchair Basketball team.

Along with former Paralympian Gord Tuck, they’re part of WorkSafeBC’s partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee. Last year alone, the Paralympic Team spoke to more than 2,200 people.

The special is airing on Shaw TV throughout February and March. Check your local listings for times.
